One98Eight began in Dead Man’s Flats, Alberta as that's where our name was born :
Highway 1, Exit 98 in Municipality District #8.
The name stuck when we moved to Canmore—not only to honour our beginnings, but also because 1988 was the year Canmore made its mark on the world stage during the Winter Olympics. Just like that, we hope to put One98Eight on the map—one dish at a time.
We believe that great food starts with intention. That’s why we make many of our ingredients in-house, from our sauces and salad dressings to even our house-made ketchup. Every element is crafted to complement the bold, global flavors on our menu.
Our kitchen blends international inspiration with local ingredients, offering dishes that are both unique and deeply satisfying. Whether you join us for brunch, breakfast, or dinner,
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Rockies, our space offers a warm and inviting escape—where rustic charm meets elevated comfort. Thoughtfully designed to slow you down, it's a place to gather, connect, and enjoy food that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new. Whether you're joining us for a cozy brunch, a leisurely breakfast before a hike, or an intimate dinner with wine, you’ll always feel at home here.
