One98Eight began in Dead Man’s Flats, Alberta as that's where our name was born :
Highway 1, Exit 98 in Municipality District #8.
The name stuck when we moved to Canmore—not only to honour our beginnings, but also because 1988 was the year Canmore made its mark on the world stage during the Winter Olympics. Just like that, we hope to put One98Eight on the map—one dish at a time.
We believe that great food starts with intention. That’s why we make many of our ingredients in-house, from our sauces and salad dressings to even our house-made ketchup. Every element is crafted to complement the bold, global flavors on our menu.
Our kitchen blends international inspiration with local ingredients, offering dishes that are both unique and deeply satisfying. Whether you join us for brunch, breakfast, or dinner,
Between the trails and the traffic, between early starts and a long list of itineraries
— We are the place meant for a pause—
an invitation to breathe, unwind, and recharge. After days of hiking, travelling, and soaking in all that the Rockies has to offer, we welcome you to settle in, enjoy food made with care, thoughtfully curated drinks and let the pace of the mountains guide you after. You’ve earned this break.
