One98Eight first opened in the hamlet of Dead Man's Flats, Alberta, which led to the creation of our name:
Highway 1, Exit 98, District 8.
The 1988 Winter olympics put Canmore on the world map so we knew we had to keep the same name when we moved to Canmore
